Les Selby, our next In Conversation with… gust, is a qualified and experienced business development manager with a professional background in work-based training, further and higher education management, as well as project management in various interfaces between the world of learning and business. Over the last 15 years, Les has been actively involved in a number of regionally based charity organisations as a trustee and company secretary.
His company, Alba Associates, has been delivering a programme of sector specific collaborative network events for the digital media, creative and ICT business across the North West for the past 2+ years under the title of Wired City Reconnected. The events are upon ‘collaborative networking principles’ where the emphasis is upon ‘calls for collaborations’, ‘matching businesses’ and ‘facilitated introductions’.
“We are developing a serious of Digital Connections events aimed at linking digital, creative and ICT businesses with other single sectors. The aim is to develop collaborative business opportunities and solutions across sectors: advance manufacturing, hotel and hospital, science and technology. Currently we are delivery a serious of ‘practitioners forums’ under the title Digital Matters aimed at enhance the business skills within the sector, by using practitioners to lead workshop and panel presentations to disseminate good practice.” says Les.
