Demistifying video jargon – in Queue

Following on from our explanation of the video jargon – “Render”, here’s another word we use alot. Queue. Or in queue.

“Queue”
It takes time for computer software to recognise all the composite parts of the video (sound, voice, graphics, footage, transitions etc) so each video sits in ‘queue’ waiting to render. We make sure every video element is queued. Then review the video software timeline to check the location of titles, clips, transitions and effects.

And you thought it was as simple as pressing ‘save’. There’s many a time I wish it was… watching the videos in queue rendering is slightly less interesting than watching paint dry.

If you hear any words or jargon regarding video production you’re not sure about, then please ask on of the Little Orchard team to explain – we’re always happy to help.
