Manchester Digital was created by the small companies that built the industry and who need to work together. But won’t there be consolidation like in every other new industry? In which case what’s the point?
Little Orchard has invited Shaun Fensom, chair of Manchester Digital, an independent association of people and businesses working in the digital sector, to be “In Conversation with…” us.
Shaun says, “Unlike many business support organisations, MD was created by and for its members – a self help organisation aiming to raise Manchester’s profile as a place where the best digital work is done and helping members keep it that way. MD runs the flagship Big Chip Awards, the biggest digital awards outside London.”
Shaun comes from a technical background and co-founded one of the UK’s first ISPs, Poptel. As well as helping to run Manchester Digital, Shaun also is a consultant specialising in digital infrastructure.
